As we get older, we get wiser about tanning and being under the sun. But for those of you who want a bit of that natural sun kissed glow, it’s important to make sure you soothe and hydrate your skin after you’ve been under the sun for several hours. Although post-sun skin products won’t reverse the sun’s damage, they will lock in moisture and restore the dead skin cells to help new ones grow.
I recommend Beautycounter’s Baby Oil, the Lustro Shimmer Oil, and the Hydrating Face Oil to restore hydration back into your skin, and soothe any sun burns that you may have. Plus, these oils—along with proper water rehydration and gentle exfoliation—will help prolong your tan for weeks!
Working out is great, most of us do it in some shape or form, but sometimes stepping out of that gym and into the outdoors can be gratifying. Plus, the change of scenery and surrounding yourself with nature is not only good for the body, but also great for the mind.
Hiking is my go-to outdoor activity. It can burn an average of 500 calories per hour, doesn’t add stress to your joins (unlike concrete or asphalt), can lower cholesterol and blood pressure, help prevent cancer (more on this in a bit), and has been shown to make you happier!
One of my favorite activities during the weekends is searching for new fun finds to share with you! Today, I want to share with you some of my favorite summer finds that made my weekend complete. I hope you enjoy!
Pajama-rama with an Extra Cup of Matcha Tea
I love wearing comfortable PJ’s over the weekend to lounge in, while sipping and enjoying that extra cup of Matcha Green Tea. The PJ’s in this photo are from GAP, and they are the best, and even better, on sale! The material is extremely light and comfortable. Plus, the combination of blue and white is perfect (one of my favorites).
I use this “I Love You California” mug from Malibu Farms all the time. It’s a reminder of my forever love for the sunny state! 😉
As some of you may have heard, we have some BIG news here at Beautycounter! We just launched the Protect Body Sun Stick Sunscreen with SPF 30. It’s a new jumbo size that kids love, and so will you.
Why is this my new favorite you ask?—it’s like a spray (easy to apply), but in the form of a stick for your body. I love it because I can use it on the kids (they enjoy applying it onto themselves). The sunscreen stick is great for camp, travel, beach, pool, and everywhere else you use sunscreen. So make sure to replace your aerosol sun spray with this fabulous new product! Spray sunscreens are dangerous, especially for kids because they are more likely than adults to breathe in the chemical toxins being sprayed out of the can, which can cause damage to their lungs. It is also easy to apply in the car. I know that sounds funny but its true. On the way to camp today, my 4 year old covered his whole body with sunscreen without getting messy cream all over the car and his hands. He was so proud, and mom was too!
