For this weekend’s fun finds, I bring to you frozen vegan treats from Pressed Juicery, a healthy pizza for kids and adults, and a summer ensemble you can wear to almost any occasion. I hope you enjoy!
Pressed Juicery is one of my go-to places for delicious cold-pressed juices and cleanses. You can choose from a variety of juices including, mixed greens, roots, citrus, fruits, coffee, H2O and so much more! If you’re into the juice cleanse, they have one, three and five day cleanses available.
Working out is great, most of us do it in some shape or form, but sometimes stepping out of that gym and into the outdoors can be gratifying. Plus, the change of scenery and surrounding yourself with nature is not only good for the body, but also great for the mind.
Hiking is my go-to outdoor activity. It can burn an average of 500 calories per hour, doesn’t add stress to your joins (unlike concrete or asphalt), can lower cholesterol and blood pressure, help prevent cancer (more on this in a bit), and has been shown to make you happier!
Remember back in science class when we learned about chlorophyll—how it collects light from the sun to give plants their energy and their green color? That’s why you see it in kale, spinach, arugula, and a bit in apples, kiwi and pears. Chlorophyll has now become a trend. You’ll see it being added to water and juices, and made into pills due to its many benefits including weight loss, preventing cancer, detoxifying, healing wounds, alkalizing the body, and deodorizing.
Activated charcoal has become a hot topic recently, and if you haven’t added charcoal to your health and beauty routine, then you’re missing out on more than just a black face mask.
Charcoal has been used for health benefits for thousands of years, especially by the Egyptians. Back then ; was used to help heal wounds. It wasn’t until the 1900s that charcoal’s absorbent powers were used on a wider scale. Now, you’ll see it being used for teeth whitening, digestive cleaning, poison extracting, water cleansing and toxin absorbing. As such, it’s been made into a variety of products such as face masks, pills, toothpaste, drinks, and even soap!
Activated charcoal has immense absorption powers. It can absorb thousands of times its own weight in harmful substances, which is why it’s so beneficial for your health.
One of my favorite activities during the weekends is searching for new fun finds to share with you! Today, I want to share with you some of my favorite summer finds that made my weekend complete. I hope you enjoy!
Pajama-rama with an Extra Cup of Matcha Tea
I love wearing comfortable PJ’s over the weekend to lounge in, while sipping and enjoying that extra cup of Matcha Green Tea. The PJ’s in this photo are from GAP, and they are the best, and even better, on sale! The material is extremely light and comfortable. Plus, the combination of blue and white is perfect (one of my favorites).
I use this “I Love You California” mug from Malibu Farms all the time. It’s a reminder of my forever love for the sunny state! 😉
As some of you may have heard, we have some BIG news here at Beautycounter! We just launched the Protect Body Sun Stick Sunscreen with SPF 30. It’s a new jumbo size that kids love, and so will you.
Why is this my new favorite you ask?—it’s like a spray (easy to apply), but in the form of a stick for your body. I love it because I can use it on the kids (they enjoy applying it onto themselves). The sunscreen stick is great for camp, travel, beach, pool, and everywhere else you use sunscreen. So make sure to replace your aerosol sun spray with this fabulous new product! Spray sunscreens are dangerous, especially for kids because they are more likely than adults to breathe in the chemical toxins being sprayed out of the can, which can cause damage to their lungs. It is also easy to apply in the car. I know that sounds funny but its true. On the way to camp today, my 4 year old covered his whole body with sunscreen without getting messy cream all over the car and his hands. He was so proud, and mom was too!
For those of you who know me (and if you don’t you soon will!), I love to share new ideas in the hopes to inspire and encourage others to live their healthiest most balanced life through everyday tips on fitness, beauty, food and other fun finds. As a result, I thought “why not put all my thoughts and inspirations all in one place for everyone to enjoy,” which is why I started this blog.
My motto is “why keep a good thing a secret?” We should all be encouraging each other, building each other up, helping each other in times of need and even when it’s not needed. The only way to grow as human beings is to work together. Lets all inspire one another and live out the best life we can live.
